Gauna to Michigan State

Alex Gauna, the 6'9 PF from Eaton Rapids, MI/High has verbally committed to the Michigan State Spartans. It has long been known that Michigan State was Gauna's dream school, and when offered he would accept. Gauna was offered this week and it didn't take him long to say yes. Gauna is a inside-outside threat, who has a very good shooting touch. Tom Izzo will definitely him up down low and make him a better rebounder, which in turn will make him a better player. I expect to see him do wonders as a Spartan. Gauna competes with the Michigan Mustangs grassroots program.

Is he more of an inside or midrange player? How about his defense/rebounding, as well as athleticism?

Looks like great size and you have to like that he wants to be a spartan!

Gauna is a more inside-outside threat. A very good mid-range jump shooter. Decent athlete. Not a run and jump kind of guy i.e. Stanley Robinson from UCONN or Glenn Bryant from Oak Hill, but he's not a bad athlete. Run's the floor well. I like Gauna. Will be good at State.
